Hello, everyone. I’m John Lynch, a horror author from Rhode Island. It’s been a tough week, but we’re surviving over here. Nothing for anyone to be worried about, things will be ok. A few weeks back, I had the opportunity to vend, and take part in a panel at Rhode Island Authorcon, pretend by The Horror Depot. I must say, it was one of the best events I’ve had the pleasure of vending at, and the panel was standing room only. Thank you to Josh at the horror depot, Kristopher Triana, Aron Beauregard, Brandon Peras-Sanchez, and Amiste for an awesome panel.
Next up is Scares That Care Autorcon 3 in at the Double Tree Inn, In Williamsburg, VA. It promises to be an amazing time. I’ll be doing a reading with Kristopher Triana at the event, I hope to see you soon!
On the book front, I have had some project changes. Two things I was working on are going to be delayed. I anticipated having one or two full length solo books between now and August. That simply won’t happen. My mystery cowritten project is on track for an early summer release still, but as far as solo stuff, we’re looking late summer, to early fall, followed by a December release. The third solo project will have to be delayed until 2025. With that being said, I’m releasing the standalone edition of Expiration of Sentence earlier than I anticipated. It was supposed to be convention and webshop exclusive until the fall, but with a project the delays, I’ve decided to pivot.
Expiration of Sentence tells the story of Richard Murphy, a man doing time for murdering the man who molested his son. But there is more to Glenwood Corrections than human monsters. Can Murphy survive?
It will be available as a standalone ebook this Saturday, April 13th for 2.99, and the paperback will soon follow. For those interested, you can pre order by clicking the cover below
Plenty of people have read this in the conservator’s collection, and I think there are still more yet to find it, maybe those who aren’t big on reading multi-author anthologies. I know those people exist, because I am one of them, and I refuse to believe I’m the only one 😂. Thank you all for the support, I know you’ll love it!
Work on the cowritten project is going great, I’ve been getting words consistently again and feeling like I’m getting my groove back, which I’m beginning to realize is simply part of my creative process. I finish a project and feel drained for a few months before I can begin again. I’m learning to avoid it, but it still happens. Be on the lookout for a full announcement in the coming months!
I’ve taken a slight detour from reading mostly horror, and started reading the Peter Ash series, by Nick Petrie. Fans of action thrillers should get a kick out of this series.
Final Fantasy 7 rebirth is taking up the rest of my free time, it’s a must play.
That does it for this newsletter. I hope to see you all this weekend!
Nick Petrie is an excellent choice. I've read all his novels and enjoyed every single one. Much better than the recent Jack Reacher Novels.
